In the second episode of the new season of “Grey’s,” the main characters get to know each other and find themselves a bit more comfortable.
While the story may be about getting back together, this week’s episode, “The Gift,” actually feels like it was written by the showrunners themselves.
When one of the leads, Charlie (Josh Jackson), is kidnapped, the other, Charlie’s best friend and roommate, Kate (Melissa Rauch), goes to get help.
Kate’s plan, and that of her co-workers, is to get back to her apartment, get some groceries and head to the mall to grab some drinks.
But as they get closer, Kate’s fears that her friends are actually out for revenge for her father’s murder (and her own) come to pass.
She realizes that her plans are only going to get them closer to Charlie.
After all, she’s the only one who can stop Charlie from killing Kate.
But this leads to a very funny scene that ends up being the series’ best one so far.
(It’s also one of my favorite scenes of the season.)
It’s a scene that, after a lot of effort, the writers and actors came up with, and it’s one that has the potential to be a series classic.
